Taipei has been on my travel bucket list for a looong time. I heard a lot of good about it when I lived in Shanghai, all Taiwanese people I know are super nice, plus when you study Asian Business, Taiwan is not a place you can miss. So as soon as I got accepted for a summer programme at Honk Kong University I knew that Taipei, which is less than 2 hours flight away from Hong Kong, is a must.
And it was a very good idea. Taipei didn’t disappoint me at all. Definitely one of the coolest Asian cities I’ve seen so far. Not as crazy and chaotic as Hong Kong or Shanghai, which sometimes can be a plus, especially when you are trying to sightsee in over 30 C degrees heat. Taipei is very modern, spacious, clean. There are a lot palm trees in the city, which I love, and buildings are “decorated” with crazy colourful signs and characters, which is another thing that I love about Asia. I’m not the biggest fan of colours when it comes to clothes, but I love colourful backgrounds. As you can see my background of choice in Taipei was a fridge in Family Mart and a street sign (which I assume was a menu, since the only signs I can recognize are water and meat). Get ready for a lot more of colourful pictures from Asia! I had so many, that my poor computer couldn’t handle it and I had to buy an external hard drive, but I’m all good now and ready to share my another Asian adventure!
