The Forbidden City is of course a must in Beijing. It started to rain as we were leaving and the last picture I took also happened to be my favourite. I like how the rain made the sky look more intresting, a littlbe bit mysterious and majestic, almost like the Forbidden City itself.

I opened a random magazine in a taxi and what did I found? A article about exotic travels and the destination was Poland and my home town Wrocław. It’s funny that something familiar to you can be so “exotic” for others and the other way around.

If you’re looking for an intresting culinary adventure Dali Courtyard is a good place to go to. it’s hidden in one of the famouse Hutongs areas, which is also a great place for a walk after the dinner. There is no menue, so you don’t chose what you’re getting, but it’s a nice way to try new things and experience new flavours. Especially if you’r not very familiar with Chinese food yet and trust me, I know how it feels at the begining in China when you have no idea what to eat.

Temple of Heaven is another must see.

Hutongs areas is where you can get the taste of old Beijing.

If you’re traveling between Beijing and Shanghai an alternative is the high-speed train. The journey of about 1300 km takes 5 hours and the train’s speed goes up to 300 km/h. It’s a good option if you have more time on your hand and you want to see a bit more of China. Although there are plenty of flights between these two cities and the cost of the train is not lower.
