It took 20 hours by a train to get from Shanghai to Guilin (not counting an hour in Shanghai only to get to the train station). The train ride itself wasn’t that bad as I magined. If you have a good company, tons of unhealthy snacks and some cup noodles it can be a quiet interesting experience as well. Guilin is known for its unique nature and is considered as one of China’s top tourist destinations. The weather didn’t spoil us and heavy rain and intensive green scenery felt almost tropical, but after all it was a good trip. It’s always super interesting to get out of the big city and see what else is out there. So if you’re ever traveling in China I would definitely recommend Guilin.
