Being a foreginer in China and especially a foreigner who grew up in Scandinavia means that an IKEA trip can be the highlight of your weekend. It’s not only because you can get a bunch of unnecessary stuff for ridiculously low prices but also because being a half world away from home means that everything that is at least a bit familiar suddenly becomes your best friend. Of course Sweden and Denmark are TOTALLY different while I’m home 😉 but here the differences are almost invisible. So it felt almost like home when we had some salmon and found blåbær juice and julekalender.
